SFMTA Central Subway Opens!
Our F|E team had the opportunity to tour the new SFMTA Central Subway, Chinatown/Rose Park station before opening its doors last month. We were thrilled to be a part of the project and even more thrilled to view the space!

CSU East Bay CORE Building Opens!
F|E attended the grand opening of the new 101,000 sf CORE Library. The university library will become home to the Student Center for Academic Achievement & the Hub for Entrepreneurship.

Oregon Supreme Court Opens!
The historic renovation of the Oregon Supreme Court utilizes base isolation as its structural system for enhanced resiliency and is designed for immediate occupancy and operation after a significant earthquake.

Lauren Kercheval

Rebuilding communities is what drove Lauren to pursue a career in structural engineering for the built environment. Traveling to Ecuador as part of the Bahia Beach Construction Team that rebuilds structures, Lauren realized the importance of designing safe and resilient structures as well as the impact these structures have in a community. As a Structural Designer at Forell | Elsesser, Lauren draws from similar experiences to advocate for resiliency and sustainability for the built environment. Lauren received her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and Master’s in Structural Engineering at Stanford University.

Lauren enjoys hiking, traveling, and scoping out new coffee shops.

Jostein Seljegard

Jostein is a Structural Designer at Forell | Elsesser and is a proactive engineer that enjoys collaborating, learning and problem solving. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and his Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from UC Berkeley, Jostein is even more energized and focused on contributing to Forell Elsesser on developing safe, sustainable, and resilient structures.

Outside of the office, Jostein enjoys reading and playing guitar, as well as outdoor activities like soccer and skiing.
