Nikhil Chaudhuri

As an Engineer at Forell | Elsesser, Nikhil applies his interdisciplinary background to the development of reliable structures and engineering/design tools. Nikhil is particularly interested in how creative analytical methods, algorithms, and new materials can improve the performance and sustainability of structures while preserving aesthetic sensibilities. Previously, he has worked for architecture firms and industrialized construction companies, improving workflows and evolving designs for mixed-use buildings in the Bay Area.

Nikhil received his Master’s in Structural Engineering from Stanford University, including research on nonlinear topology optimization methods. He also completed his undergraduate degree at Stanford, majoring in Architectural Design and minoring in Computer Science. He was a leader in the Stanford EERI Seismic Design Team and President of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) chapter.

In his free time, Nikhil enjoys photography, digital art, basketball, and lazy days listening to music in the park or at the beach.

Angelene Boto

Angelene Boto is a licensed Structural Engineer with over 12 years of experience in structural design. Her previous work includes multiple California hospital design and construction projects under OSHPD review, including construction on the Marin General Hospital campus. Her past projects have also focused on educational, arts, and Civic work, with projects including performing arts centers, libraries, and government structures. She enjoys the artistry of structures and follows innovations in both architecture and the urban/City experience.

Angelene received her Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a Master’s degree of Civil Engineering in Design Construction Integration at Stanford University.

Outside of work, Angelene enjoys painting, climbing, nautical history, and being a wife and mom. She is also a first violinist with the Peninsula Symphony, continuing to play the violin since the age of 4.
