Commitment to Sustainable Design Through Renewable Energy
At Forell | Elsesser, we are deeply committed to advancing sustainability in the built environment. Our mission is to create resilient, forward-thinking structures that support a cleaner and more sustainable future. As part of this mission, F|E has been serving as the exclusive structural engineering provider for Sol Components, a subsidiary of Kloeckner Metals Corporation, over the past three years.
In collaboration with Sol, we’ve played a crucial role in developing fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker ground-mount racking solutions for photovoltaic panels, contributing to the clean energy transition.

Harnessing Advanced Finite Element Analysis for Optimized Solar Racking Solutions
The ground-mount racking systems, crafted from a mix of cold-formed and hot-rolled steel shapes and typically supported on driven pile foundations, are meticulously engineered to withstand the rigorous wind demands of renewable energy installations. By integrating advanced analysis with automated tools, we ensure that our solar racking systems are not only resilient and efficient, but also a driving force in supporting the clean energy transition.
At the forefront of innovation, we developed proprietary design tools that automate the extraction and interpolation of over 140,000 data points from wind tunnel tests, enabling us to significantly accelerate the design optimization process while enhancing performance.
Ground Mount Solar Projects
Our work has helped deliver over 50 commercial and utility-scale solar projects across five states, providing the structural backbone for renewable energy infrastructure that powers homes, businesses, and communities.
