The 3174 Porter Drive Tenant Improvement project involves the renovation of a 2-story, 49,000-square-foot concrete tilt-up structure for the Stanford School of Medicine. The renovation includes the creation of new medical spaces, including a vivarium, and requires significant structural modifications to accommodate vibration-sensitive equipment on the upper floor.
Customized Solution
- This project also involves the installation of new MEP systems, including rooftop units and ducts, along with a new roof screen. A key component of the renovation is the demolition of the existing elevator and the construction of a larger, more efficient elevator system, complete with a new pit and penthouse for improved vertical access to Level 2.
- A new service yard will be constructed in the adjacent parking area to house a new generator, ensuring the facility’s operational resilience. This renovation exemplifies our ability to deliver tailored structural engineering solutions that support both the technical requirements and the long-term functionality of high-performance medical spaces.
